Did you know one of my favorite places to travel to in Michigan is Mackinac Island? If you have taken the ferry to this amazing island, breathed in smells of it’s world famous fudge(and hopefully ate some!), took a carriage tour or rented bikes to explore the island, stood before the Grand Hotel and walked along Main Street stepping into some of the cutest shops ever then you probably understand my love for this place. 

For me it’s all of its history and charm, and the feeling of stepping back in time loving this island so much. When you step off a ferry boat you kind of forget about reality for a bit, until you nearly become a casualty from tourists on bicycles. Or find yourself smack dab in a puddle of horse pee.

Since Mackinac Island holds a piece of my heart and a place I will never grow tired of visiting, I decided to pursue an idea of photographing high school seniors right in the heart of this magical island. Six years ago I began scheduling sessions for high school seniors who were looking for a unique place to have their pictures taken. I learned quickly I wasn’t the only one infatuated with this island! So many parents and seniors told me that they too felt this was a special place for them to visit and were thrilled to have have their senior pictures taken there!

As summer draws near with a new season of high school seniors (Yes Class of 2024!! that would be you!) I’m already making plans for portrait sessions on Mackinac Island. If you are reading this and are wanting more information about how you can join in on this amazing chance to have your senior pictures on the island please reach out to me! Sessions are limited so trust me, these fill up really quickly!

Because these 2 hour sessions fill up quickly I’m adding an additional session day! Dates for this adventure on Mackinac Island will be first come first serve so please inquire about dates!

Session fee is $900 and includes 50-75 digital images!

Some information you should know before you schedule!

I will be staying at a Bed and Breakfast location on the island so you will have a place to change outfits, make any adjustments to your hair, make-up touch ups throughout your session time. If you need suggestions for hair & make up stylists on the island I’ll provide some for you!

Unless a specific location is desired, all sessions will take place in and around Main and Market Streets, harbor area, and locations surrounding Grand Hotel.

I’ll have snacks and beverages for you AND a sweet swag bag for you! I’ll be calling it the Mackinac Island/Senior Portrait Session Survival Bag!

What should you bring?

• Your outfits on hangers in dress bags if possible to avoid your clothing becoming wrinkled during your travels.
• Clothing accessories: earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, scarves, hats
• Shoes for each outfit PLUS comfortable shoes for walking
• Sunscreen!
• Make-up for touch ups, lip gloss
• Styling iron, hair spray, comb and/or brush, bobby pins, hair bands
• Umbrella, just in case! Sessions are rain or shine!
