megan + schroeder | northern michigan winter engagement session

Northern Michigan has had a brutal winter but it hasn’t stopped me and my cute couples from meeting up for engagement sessions. For Megan and Schroeder they braved the cold and snow and were 100% adorable the entire time we were together.

We began pictures at Megan’s grandparent’s farm, stomping through 2 foot snow banks, venturing close to their centennial barn. Anyone else love a good ole’ hip roof barn? They are classic, full of history and with so many stories.

Another location Megan had her heart set on for pictures was her family’s nearby property and it did not disappoint. I love when pictures are taken at a sacred family spot. It gives pictures so much more meaning to my clients. They see themselves in their pictures but also see a family attachment and emotional ties. Whenever couples request pictures to be taken at a meaningful place, I 100% get it.

For Megan and Schroeder, they were super sweet and kind to work with. We hadn’t met before their session, only a few emails back and forth and conversations with her mom. So finally meeting up with them in person was extra special!

With their wedding coming up quickly in June, I already know 1., Megan is going to be a gorgeous bride, 2., Schroeder is gonna melt when he sees her for the first time on their wedding day and 3., I am going to be even more in love with these two as I witness them saying their I Do’s!

Right after I sent them their gallery of images Megan emailed me back saying, “Thank you so much! They are all so beautiful. It was a joy to meet you and I look forward to seeing you soon!” Me too Megan and Schroeder!
